President Obama's Motorcade Buzzed by Drone

What would it have done for his approval rating if he'd stepped out of his vehicle and shot the darn thing down?
This is a popular maneuver for some people who see drones flying overhead. A man in Kentucky was exonerated by a judge after doing just that.
That man was in his home. President Barack Obama, on the other hand, is on vacation in Hawaii. As CBS News reports, his motorcade was interrupted at 4 p.m. on Monday in Honolulu by a strange buzzing sound overhead.
It was a drone that the Secret Service deemed potentially suspicious. So the agents tracked down the pilot, who reportedly explained that he had no idea that the president's motorcade would be coming down the road.
A Secret Service spokeswoman told me the president's motorcade wasn't interrupted. She also offered this statement: "The subject was completely unaware that the Presidential motorcade would be transiting the area of operation and immediately complied with law enforcement requests to cease and desist. No charges were filed. The motorcade proceeded without further incident."
Drones have made increasing incursions into everyday society. Amateurs have flown them over wildfires, seriously impeding the work of rescue services. The FAA is extremely concerned that drones are interfering with the landings and takeoffs of commercial planes.
Obama is in Hawaii on vacation with First Lady Michelle Obama and their two teenage daughters, Sasha and Malia.
